It's really annoying when a grocery store sells the biggest bunches of herbs known to man and you just can't get through them fast enough. You only need a few sprigs for your dinner, so what are you supposed to do with the leftovers? KatieQ suggests grabbing an ice cube tray and olive oil. Polenta, mac and cheese, farmers' market breakfasts, smoky food & drink. These are a few of my favorite things. I was an editorial intern @Food52 in 2015!

Best trick I know for saving Basil: combine roughly torn basil and some mashed roasted garlic cloves with soft unsalted butter and store in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator. It keeps for months and is a super addition to pasta, soups, risotto -- heck, just about anything.

Hi Jamie, for parsely and cilantro: I chop the end off then wrap the whole bunch in a moist kitchen paper towel, place in a ziplock bag and refrigerator. This extends the life by at least a week. I remoisten the paper towel after every use.

Good tip, but the young lady giving the tip needs some direction. She should bring it down a notch or two.
