Chicken Fingers

The phrase "kid food" might conjure up images of bland penne and PB&J's. Nothing against those feel-good classics, but we subscribe to the philosophy that kids should eat the same menu as adults -- and vice versa. In that spirit, we're looking to this collection from Jennifer Hess, a.k.a. lastnightsdinner, for some kid-friendly inspiration. From homemade fig newtons to speedy weeknight meals, it's got everything you need to get you ready for a new school year filled with family dinners -- plus an adorable apron, to bring your little chefs into the kitchen with you.

More: Need a little help getting excited for fall? We're got you covered.

Also: "Jennifer even has a cookbook coming out next week that's all about meal plans and weeknight cooking, aptly named Dinner: The Playbook. Check it out!" Wrong Jennifer :D

Thanks, guys! I can't believe it has been five years since I posted my first recipes here... and I never would have dreamed then that I'd someday be sharing my love of food and cooking with two little people :)
