Twin Peaks' Kyle MacLachlan Makes a Damn Fine Cherry Pie

June 15, 2017

Whether or not you watched when the first run of Twin Peaks aired on national TV in 1990, you’re probably familiar with its world—and with FBI special agent Dale Cooper, played by Kyle Maclachlan.

Agent Cooper is the center of the show: He’s a quirky guy and a brilliant investigator, and he loves a diner slice of cherry pie and a good cup of black coffee—so much so that they have become the unofficial foods of Twin Peaks. So, naturally, that’s what we asked him to make when he swung by the Food52 offices in honor of the show’s re-boot. (And he's pretty great at rolling dough; see the whole Facebook live here.)

While he was here, we stole a few minutes to ask him about Twin Peaks and food, and his own life in the food industry as a winemaker. Listen to our conversation on today's episode of Burnt Toast.

I have a thing for most foods topped with a fried egg, a strange disdain for overly soupy tomato sauce, and I can never make it home without ripping off the end of a newly-bought baguette. I like spoons very much.

Great podcast. He sounds like someone I would like to have dinner with.
