To see how Simon Pearce makes his simple, beautiful, and functional glassware, we took a visit to his Vermont mill-turned-workshop and spied a design that made us swoon. Turns out those stemless glasses were made by apprentice glassblowers and we were lucky enough to work with them and the Simon Pearce team on our newest glassware collection, only found on Food52. The silky-smooth glass is lead-free and made with Barium, which gives each piece a unique crystal shine that emanates a white glow when it catches the light. Their irregular, understated beauty earns its keep at our table: the modern, Spanish-style low wine glass is a rosé lover’s delight, and also double as a wee cup for your mise-en-place; the double old fashioned handsomely suits a chilly cocktail.
